Triana! Thank God that you're still there
When I need some, something strong and cold and clear
In the late night and the early morning air
I often need a cold Triana beer.
Getting lonesome, and no one seems to care
And I want some-body with me here
But it's hopeless, so I take a drink instead
I can't cope with all these feelings in my head
But look around this ol' town when they roll away the streets
There ain't much, and I gotta hunch that Triana's where I'll be
When the sun comes and the drinking's done
That's where you'll find me
Yeh, my lady ain't speaking nice to me
It drives her crazy wondering where I'll be
The truth is I think she may be right
And the proof is all this prowling in the night
But who knows where love goes and it looks like time to quit
And who tries to get wise when there ain't no sense in it
In Triana I'm damn well
Gonna make the pieces fit
Oh, the midnight and the time that comes beyond
Is a bad time for thinking and coming down
So I stay up and pray to see the sun
In Triana where the late night people come
It's sunrise for tired eyes, though my body knows no pain
But why go, I can't throw this weariness away
At the bar stool sits a damn fool
Sinking down the drain
Triana! Goddammit, I'm still here
Just plain dumb: Give me another beer
It's a rule of thumb and I want to make it clear
I often need a cold Triana beer
Triana! Thank God that you're still there
When I need some, something strong and cold and clear
In the late night and the early morning air
I often need a cold Triana beer.
