2017-2018 Season

War of the Worlds

Performed as a radio play on the stage of the Princess Theatre, "War of the Worlds" recreates the famous Mercury Theatre presentation that casued a nationwide panic when Orson Welles presented it in 1938. To radio listening audience in the early days of broadcasting, the program, done as a series of bulletins, seemed like it was really happening, and people were distraught at the thought of a Martian invasion. Hopefully, BSP patrons will be more circumspect, even though this production does coincide with Halloween. Directed by Hannah Carpenter.

This show is being produced in conjunction with the Princess, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Princess as a fund-raising effort.

All performance will be at the Princess Theatre, 112 2nd Ave, Decatur, AL. All tickets are $10, general admission.

Dinner With Friends

 "Dinner With Friends" follows food critic couple Gabe and Karen, who believe they are living in domestic bliss. They are disabused of that illusion one evening, however, when one of their best friends, Beth, reveals that her husband is leaving her for "some stewardess." This comes as a blow to Gabe and Karen, and the shock causes them to take a long, hard look at their own marriage. Directed by Andrew Foxx.

Hairspray

In 1960s Baltimore, dance-loving teen Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) auditions for a spot on "The Corny Collins Show" and wins. She becomes an overnight celebrity, a trendsetter in dance, fun and fashion. Perhaps her new status as a teen sensation is enough to topple Corny's reigning dance queen and bring racial integration to the show. Directed by Carol Puckett.

Humbug! A Christmas Carol

A Season Extra!

Come join us for the world premiere of this new musical, based up Charles Dickens classic tale, "A Christmas Carol". The familiar story of the Scrooge, forced the Spirits of Christmas to face the failures in his life, and thereby redeem himself by embracing the true spirit of Christmas. Retold in song and dance, this show promises to be come a seasonal fixture. But it will only have one world premiere, and you won't want to miss it! Directed by Carol Puckett.
