Welcome To Puckett Publishing

Puckett Publishing offers a selection of musicals, plays, songs and poetry, all written by Chuck Puckett. So, go get a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, make yourself comfortable and take a look around. Maybe read a play or a musical. Read a poem. Listen to some tunes. Have a swell time. And if anything strikes your fancy, send an email and let me know what you think. I'd really like to hear from you.

Poem-a-Day, April 2009

I participated in a "poem-a-day" exercise during the month of April. Sponsored by Writer's Digest, and hosted by Robert Lee Brewer, the poets wrote a poem each day, a poem suggested by a prompt from Mr. Brewer. If you're into poetry, these (and others of mine) can be found on the Poetry page. They're also available on my blog: The Years of Being.

Batter Up

"Batter Up" Production Coming to Renaissance Theatre

Batter Up: A Musical About Baseball

Batter Up will be presented May 15-23, 2009 on the Renaissance Theatre Mainstage. A musical retelling of Ernest Thayer's immortal poem, “Casey at the Bat”, Batter Up premiered at the Princess Theatre in Decatur in 1995. Now it comes to the stage in Huntsville, Alabama.

This production will be directed by Carol Puckett. The Batter Up home page has more information, plus links to some of the music.

"Tabernacle" Presented at Historic Camp Meeting

Hartselle Camp Meeting in Hartselle, Alabama was the setting for a recent production of "Tabernacle", a musical set in an old-time camp meeting, where old and new clash, culturally and musically.

The play was directed by Carol Puckett, and proceeds from the two performances (Friday and Saturday, July 25-26) went to benefit the new HCMA youth dormitory.
